Control Scan has a number of other benefits. Its control allows smooth and steady at a slow pace to be maintained, avoiding the risk of spinning wheels or trailer. This reduces the amount of body movement on the ground serious, helping to prevent the vehicle from bottoming and causing damage. It also allows you to wade through a speed so slow and uniform, reducing the risk of flooding of the engine, or other submerged objects causing damage. Crawl Control works in reverse, too, helping the driver when backing up to hard surfaces.
Multi-terrain ABS
The multi-terrain ABS system fitted to the new Toyota Land Cruiser has been calibrated to give great stopping power in a wide range of off-road surfaces.While the system prevents the wheels from locking when braking on paved roads in the same way as a conventional ABS, deliberately allows for a degree of locking of the wheels on loose surfaces, helping to find the purchase tires digging in, so increased braking power.
Hill-start Assist Control and Downhill Assist Control
Hill-start Assist Control and descent control is fitted to both new LC3 and LC4 degrees (LC5 has Crawl Control).
Hill-start control detects any rolling back of the vehicle during a hill start and applies the brakes on all four wheels temporarily for a maximum of five seconds, allowing the driver to leave without losing control.
Downhill Assist Control adjusts vehicle speed to keep the Land Cruiser running downhill out of control. Powered by the driver, can be turned on when L4 is selected in the transfer. It works at speeds below 15 mph, without the need for the driver to use the brake pedal and accelerator. Forward speed is controlled between 3 and 4 mph, reversing between 1 and 3 mph.
Toyota land cruiser DRIVER INFORMATION
The Multi-terrain Monitor, LC5 mounted versions of the new Toyota Land Cruiser, works in conjunction with MTS to give the driver a better view of the area around the vehicle which could be difficult to see or obscured by the steering wheel. The system uses an array of four exterior cameras that feed live images for multi-screen information on the dashboard, when moving forward or in reverse.
The front camera uses a lens wide angle to offer the widest possible view onwards. Areas out of sight of the driver, suffered as a front bonnet and within 50 inches from the bumper can be seen using the system.
As well as front and rear facing cameras, there are cameras mounted on the exterior mirrors, which can be seen projecting from the front or rear. The versatile display modes can show front and side views independently, or in combined form. The driver can change the mode using the multi-information turn the steering wheel and the display will indicate that the cameras have been selected. When the shift lever is moved to the position "R", the display automatically switches to rear view.
The monitor also displays the information about the front view, including the range of cameras and the position of any obstacles detected by sonar distance. Steering-linked guidelines are given, the mapping of the intended path of the front tires to help the driver avoid the dangers ahead. The inner and outer edges of the paths of the front tires are shown in red (within 0.5 m) and yellow (within 1.0 m) to indicate the distance from the front of the vehicle.
The cameras allow the driver side display an image of the area around the left and right, front or rear tires at the same time, regardless of the direction of vehicle travel.
Further information provided on the camera side monitor includes the display interval, the position of obstacles detected by sonar distance and position of the contact surfaces of front and rear tires. Parallel lines indicating the width of the vehicle are displayed by the 350 mm side of the vehicle, and the lines front and rear 100 mm in the front and rear, helping the driver and judge distances accurately the position of the vehicle, even in confined spaces.
Angle Shot
New Land Cruiser LC5 models also feature a display of shooting angle, which completes the multi-terrain Monitor function predicted path of the tires. The system can be selected using the multi-information switch to MTS when it is running. Guidelines bound steering angle of the vehicle are projected in real time to display. Movement through seven steps, to keep the driver constantly informed about changes in the tire angle between zero and 45 degrees. The display angle Tyre is also useful when parking, giving the driver an instant reminder steering angle and direction of the tire.

For the UK market the new Earth Cruiser Toyota is offered with one engine: a 3.0 liter D-4D diesel engine mated to a five-speed sequential automatic.
3.0 D-4D
The 2,982 cc 16-valve DOHC common rail develops 171bhp at 3400 rpm and 410Nm of torque from 1,600 to 2,800 revolutions per minute. This enables an acceleration from zero to 62 mph in 11.7 seconds and a top speed of 109 mph.
The engine is very durable and meets Euro 4 emission standards. Compared to the previous Land Cruiser, CO2 emissions have been reduced from 224 to 214g/km. Fuel consumption is much better, even with the combined official figure improved from 31.4 to 34.9mpg. The use of new high-pressure fuel injectors fast response has played a key role in achieving cleaner, more efficient performance.
The engine has two balancing shafts built into the cylinder block to reduce vibrations. Guided by the timing gear, these rotate at twice crankshaft speed and in opposite directions.
In the presence of light engine load, an exhaust valve on command Gar recirculation (EGR) cooler bypass is activated to prevent the temperature inside the combustion chamber to fall to an abnormally low level, allowing optimal operation of EGR and maintain the best possible performance issues.
A five-speed sequential automatic
The five-speed sequential automatic has a number of features that promote changes smooth, low noise, excellent performance and good fuel consumption, driving is on or off-road.
Manual override
The transmission has a sequential manual control function that allows the driver to take more control and enjoy a greater involvement by selecting the manual transmission. The system is activated by selecting the "S" turn at the door. The driver can then limit the range of travel, selecting the maximum speed at which the transmission works. The selected gear is shown on the main instrument display.
Flex Lock-up control
Flex Lock-Up Control increases the range of the lock-up clutch slip from his control, fuel consumption. In acceleration, the distribution of power transmitted between the lock-up clutch (mechanical motive power) and the torque converter (the fluid driving force) is adjusted to driving conditions, greatly increasing efficiency. In deceleration, the lock-up clutch work until the vehicle speed is reached as low as possible, increasing the cut-off series of fuel for fuel economy.

Eco Driving Indicator
Eco Driving Indicator helps the driver to adopt a driving style best fuel consumption, with a light on the dash that lights up when the accelerator is operating within its range more efficiently. When the acceleration moves beyond this area, the Eco light turned off and the display begins to flash.

Toyota has made it easier for drivers to find the ideal position at the wheel, the addition of both tilt and telescopic steering wheel. The driver's seat has six-way manual adjustment of LC3 models and eight-way electric lumbar adjustment and control of heating power LC4 and LC5 on versions, adjustable passenger seat with four-way manual or power, according to rank. The LC5 also provides a memory function of the seat.
The attention to detail can be seen in a soft-touch toggle on the side of the center console that provide extra comfort for the driver's knees and shins, and a soft urethane pad on top of the center armrest. Identification of off-road control switch at the base of the center console makes it easy to use on both front seats.
LC3 models have cloth upholstery Yosemite, Sequoia with (dark gray) and Yukon (beige), leather seats available in high-quality models. Interior color combinations are black on gray, with light gray door pillars and roof lining, ivory or dark brown, with ivory door pillars and roof lining.
Second-row seats
The new configuration of the second row seats offer greater flexibility for the organization of the interior to cope with different arrangements and load requirements. The base seats slide independently through a series 135mm, to gain space for the legs or cargo space, as required. In LC3 models, which do not provide the third row of seats as standard, the second-row seats can be folded twice to release even more luggage space.
On the passenger side of the second row of seats has a walk in the new function that is easier to use than traditional seat-system failure. A lever on the side of the seat can be operated with one hand while at times the backrest forward and slide the seat and the position of maximum forward, giving generous access to the third row.
Third row of seats
Instead of "occasional" seats found in some SUVs, the Toyota Land Cruiser offers its two seats with integrated headrests, which can be folded completely flat loading plan.
The seating position was made more comfortable, by increasing the distance between the hip and foot, thanks to the sliding second-row seats, legroom is up to more than double that of the current Land Cruiser, ranging from 489 to 618 millimeters. Passengers up to 180 cm tall can be comfortably accommodated on the LC4 and LC5 versions.

The luggage compartment is equipped with a luggage net, eyelets, tracks utility (LC4 and LC5), a storage tray and a 3.8-liter storage box. A tool kit is stowed in a special compartment in the tailgate.
